Mekhi Sheffield, from Florida, was overcome with emotion in a sweet exchange with his mother, Sommer Jean, just moments before the ceremony.

During a later interview, the youngster explained that they were happy tears as the pair had 'really been through a lot together', with his mother revealing that her young son 'saved her life' after she went through an abusive relationship.

In the clip, which was originally posted to TikTok by Sommer's hair stylist, the bride-to-be can be seen standing in her gown and veil as Mekhi tentatively rounds the corner. 

The pair compliment each other on their outfits and Sommer tells her son that he 'looks amazing' in his suit before asking: 'You ready to walk me down the aisle? Think you can do it?'
